Market conditions can vary widely over time. Investments in securities involve a risk of principal loss. Investing in non-U.S. securities may entail higher risk due to non-U.S. currency fluctuations and political or economic uncertainty which may be especially heightened when investing in emerging markets. Having a particular investment strategy does not guarantee a profit and/or guarantee against loss. Investors should consider the investment objectives, risks, and fees carefully before investing. This investment portfolio is actively managed and therefore may involve above average portfolio turnover which could result in adverse tax consequences in non-qualified accounts. The performance data shown does not reflect the impact of any applicable taxes.
The S&P is a market capitalization-weighted index that measures price movements of the common stock of 500 widely held large U.S. companies. Standard & Poor's chooses the member companies for the S&P based on market size, liquidity, and industry group representation. Included are the common stocks of industrial, financial, utility, and transportation companies.
Composite and index performance results reflect realized and unrealized appreciation and the reinvestment of dividends, interest and/or capital gains. The historical index performance results for the S&P represent the total return for the specified time periods and do not reflect the deduction of transaction and custodial charges, or the deduction of an investment management fee, the incurrence of which would have the effect of decreasing indicated historical performance results. Prior to May 20, 2009, index returns were calculated based on a simple arithmetic calculation. The historical performance results for the S&P are provided exclusively for comparison purposes only, so as to provide general comparative information. It should not be assumed that Lifestyle Portfolio account holdings will correspond directly to any such comparative benchmark index.
Actual investment advisory fees incurred by clients may vary. The periodic fee is incremental and is calculated based on the account's fair market value. The investment management fee schedule for the composite is 2.95% for each dollar up to $499,999, 2.50% for each dollar thereafter up to $999,999, and 2.00% for each dollar thereafter. For example, an account with a fair market value of $600,000 will be billed 2.95% on 499,999 and 2.50% on the remaining $100,001.
The Lifestyle Composite was created on January 1, 2009.
